Undulating Fugal Spectrum

A 3D piece produced from packing pieces used for delivery of an item of bathroom sanitary wear. And to think I was going to throw these out!

I really enjoyed putting this one together using excess ‘fodder’. It was fun producing the specific squares,organising them into colour groups, deciding which patterns to put together and sticking them down. Much of art is simply making decisions that appeal, which can take a considerable amount of time.

The working title for this was ‘toblerone piece’ but eventually became ‘Undulating Fugal Spectrum’, which begins to make sense when we understand that a fugue is either: ‘… a contrapuntal composition in which a short melody or phrase (the subject) is introduced by one part and successively taken up by others and developed by interweaving the parts’ or ‘a loss of awareness of one's identity, often coupled with flight from one's usual environment, associated with certain forms of hysteria …’

I assure you that I was of sound mind when I put this together (Whatever you think ‘sound’ means)
